In short

  • Choosing a server or faction without your friends: a character cannot change faction, and transfers are paid and limited (official).
  • Wasting limited resources: Odyle Energy above the cap is lost; Shugo Festival keys are better used at level 45.
  • Auto-extracting with a bad filter destroys gear for good; check the filter first.
  • Confusing item level with Combat Power: item level opens content, Combat Power shows real strength.
  • Buying Kina from third parties breaks NC’s rules and can end in account termination (official).

Before you play

1. Picking a server or faction alone

A character cannot change faction: transfers only go to servers of the same faction — [Official]. Transfers are paid, need Lv. 10+, and run only in announced windows with per-server limits — [Official]. Do instead: agree on region, faction and server with friends first. → Regions and servers, Elyos or Asmodians

2. Rushing the character creator

Re-editing face and body later needs a voucher — [Official]. Save your look in a My Appearance slot before confirming. → Character creation

While leveling

3. Flying on an empty stamina bar

Auto-flight stops when stamina runs out; the fall can kill you — [Single source].

4. Not spending skill points, Daevanion points and Stigma

You level up but don’t get stronger. Unlocked skill specialty slots also need an effect assigned by hand — [Community ×2]. → Daevanion, Stigma

5. Enhancing leveling gear too hard

Up to +10 is always safe, but you will replace this gear. Extraction returns materials, not Kina — [Community ×2]. Spread upgrades: several items +1 is cheaper than one item +5 — [Single source]. Exception: the belt and amulet, which you keep for a long time — [Community ×2]. → Enhancement

6. Auto-extracting with a bad filter

Extraction destroys the item. Wrongly extracted gear cannot be recovered — [Community ×2]. Check filters before you enable auto-extraction.

7. Using Shugo Festival keys too early

Rewards scale with level and keys are limited, so save them for Lv. 45 — [Community ×2].

After level 45

8. Letting Odyle Energy overflow

Odyle Energy regenerates 15 every 3 hours up to a cap (560, or 840 with membership); anything above the cap is lost — [Community ×3]. Spend it on Expedition, Transcendence or Sanctuary reward cubes before it caps.

9. Confusing item level with Combat Power

Item level comes from your gear and gates content. Combat Power (CP) also counts Daevanion, Pantheon, Arcana, skill and Stigma levels, titles and wings — [Community ×2]. Groups often look at CP. → Item level and Gear Score

10. Skipping the Abyss because you dislike PvP

Guides report that PvE monsters, supply quests and some daily/weekly quests give Abyss Points without PvP — [Community ×2]. → Abyss guide

11. Pushing Clash Runes too high

Clash Runes above +1 can break — [Community ×2].

Account safety

12. Buying Kina or using bots

NC states that buying Kina or Quna from third parties violates its terms and can lead to termination — [Official]. NC posts account restriction notices several times a week. → Account rules

In plain words: keep friends on the same server, don’t waste capped resources, and never buy gold.

FAQ

What is the biggest mistake new AION 2 players make?

Picking a server or faction without checking where friends play. Faction is permanent for a character, and server transfers are paid, limited and only open in announced windows.

Should I enhance every item to the maximum?

No. Spread upgrades across items and enhance leveling gear only when stuck. Up to +10 is safe; beyond that attempts can fail and materials are consumed.

Is it a mistake to skip the Abyss if I don’t like PvP?

Usually yes. Guides report you can earn Abyss Points from PvE kills and quests in the Abyss, and PvP is only one part of it.

Can I get banned for buying Kina?

Yes. NC warns that buying Kina or Quna from third parties violates its terms and can lead to account termination. NC publishes regular restriction notices.

Is it bad to spend Odyle Energy early?

Not early — late. Odyle Energy regenerates up to a cap (about 560 without membership); any regeneration above the cap is lost. Spend it before it caps.
