How to install AION 2 and set up your account

Where can I download AION 2?

The Global version is available from two official places:

Launcher	What you need	Notes
Steam	A Steam account	Store app ID 3393110, listed as free to play
NC PURPLE	An NC account	NC’s own launcher; the Global game page is on purple.plaync.com

NC confirms that game content is the same on both, and players share the same servers. Pick the launcher you prefer.

The Global version runs on Windows PC only. There is no official Global mobile, console, Mac or Linux client.

How to install on Steam

1. Open the AION 2 store page in Steam and click Play Game.
2. Make sure you have 100 GB free. An SSD is recommended.
3. Wait for the download, then start the game.
4. Choose your region, faction and server. See regions and servers.

If you joined the Launch Scale Test in September, that was a separate app called “AION 2 Playtest”. NC asked Steam players to uninstall it and install the main game.

How to install on PURPLE

1. Install the PURPLE launcher from NC and sign in with your NC account.
2. Find AION 2 (Global) and install it.
3. Launch the game and choose region, faction and server.

Do I need to link Steam and PURPLE?

No. You can play on Steam without a PURPLE account. Link the two only if you want the same characters and progress on both launchers.

Be careful with Twitch Drops. NC says the Twitch link must point to the account you actually play on: your Steam account if you play on Steam, your NC account if you play on PURPLE. NC also warns not to re-link accounts on the website to “fix” a missing drop, because this can break your existing link. See coupon codes and Twitch Drops.

What do I get on first login?

NC extended the pre-registration and Steam wishlist rewards to every player who creates an account and logs in before the maintenance on December 1, 2026 (PST). Rewards arrive by in-game mail. The mail expires before the maintenance on December 8, 2026.

The rewards include a pet chest and a supply chest with Resurrection Spiritstones, potions and scrolls. NC lists the exact contents in its Launch Rewards notice.

Which languages can I choose?

The client supports 8 interface languages: English, French, German, Spanish (Spain), Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Japanese and Korean. Voice-over is available in English, Japanese and Korean. See client language.

Age ratings

The Steam store shows ESRB T (13+), PEGI 16 and USK 16. Ratings list in-game purchases and, for PEGI, paid random items.

Account security basics

• Use a unique password for Steam and your NC account.
• Never share your account or buy accounts. Account trading is a sanction reason under NC’s Operation Policy. See account rules.
• If NC applies a temporary security lock after a suspicious login, contact NC Customer Support at help.plaync.com. NC says a security lock is not a penalty.

NC sometimes pauses account registration for platform maintenance, for example on October 13, 2026 for 30 minutes. If sign-up fails, check server status.
