Enhancement (NC uses the verb Enhance, as in Enhance Stone) raises the level of a gear piece. In AION 2 it is one of several upgrade layers. Players often call it “enchanting”.

What are the upgrade layers?

Soul Binding is called 영혼 각인 on KR; some English guides call it Soul Imprint. NC has not used an English name on Global yet.

How safe is enhancing?

  • +0 to +10: always succeeds — [Community ×2].
  • +10 to +15: can fail. One guide says a failure only uses up materials, with no item loss and no level loss — [Single source].
  • Beyond the normal cap (about +15 to +20): uses Amplify Stones. One guide says the chance rises after each failure; another says it drops back to 60% at +16. Exact Global rates: not published.
  • Grade caps (Unique up to +15, Heroic up to +20) come from one guide — [Single source]. Heroic items are not in Global Season 1 — [Community ×2].

In plain words: go to +10 without worry. After that, every attempt can fail, so plan your materials.

Where do Enhance Stones come from?

  • Substance Morph: Sealed Wings can be morphed into Enhance Stones. Since the Oct 7, 2026 patch this is limited to 20 morphs per server per week — [Official].
  • Enhance Stones spent up to +10 can be recovered through extraction, but the Kina is lost — [Single source].
  • The Oct 14 patch event gives Battle Enhance Scroll (Bound) as an event reward — [Official].

Manastones, Soulstones and Soul Binding

  • Manastones go into weapons and armor; Soulstones into accessories. Each new stone rerolls all socket lines — [Community ×2].
  • Medium Manastones are crafted with Alchemy — [Community ×2]. See Gathering & Crafting.
  • Soul Binding has three actions: Bind (raise values, costs Kina), Sync (reroll one line, consumes a Unique item) and Reset (reroll all lines). Up to 4 lines; crafted high-tier gear can have 5 — [Community ×2].

Transfer: keep your progress

Transfer moves the Growth level and Soul Binding to another item. Manastones, Theostones and Potential are lost. It needs Transfer Stones, made from fragments through Substance Morph — [Community ×2].

What should a new Lv. 45 aim for?

  1. Weapon and all gear to at least +10 — [Community ×2].
  2. Reach item level 1,000: community guides name it as the first requirement for the Abyss and the story — [Community ×3].
  3. Enhance Clash Runes only to +1; higher levels risk breaking — [Single source: Mein-MMO].
  4. Arcana cards from Transcendence add item level (+20 basic, +40 green) — [Single source].

FAQ

Can enhancement fail and destroy my item in AION 2?

Up to +10 enhancement always succeeds. One guide says failures from +10 to +15 only consume materials, without item or level loss. This is single-source and unconfirmed for Global.

What are Amplify Stones?

Materials used for enhancement levels beyond the normal cap (about +15 to +20), according to two community guides. Their exact success rates on Global are not published.

Is there a weekly limit on Enhance Stones?

Yes, one official limit: since the Oct 7, 2026 patch, morphing Sealed Wings into Enhance Stones is limited to 20 morphs per server per week.

Are there Heroic items in Global Season 1?

No. A Global dev stream (reported by Playnews) and a GamesFuze review both say Season 1 has no Heroic-grade items.

Is there an enhancement calculator?

Our enhancement widget is planned. Until NC publishes Global success rates, any calculator would rely on KR numbers, so we do not show one yet.
