In short

  • RMT (real-money trading) means trading Kina, items or services for real money; NC’s Operation Policy sanctions it with 30-day to 90-day suspensions.
  • Gold farming, bot operations and use of unauthorized programs are listed with an integrated account ban.
  • Account trading, paid leveling (boosting, piloting, carries) and even advertising RMT are listed violations.
  • NC restricted 4,996, 10,000 and 9,422 accounts in its notices of Oct 11, 13 and 14, 2026.
  • Temporary security locks are not penalties; contact NC Customer Support to unlock.

What counts as RMT in AION 2?

RMT (real-money trading) means exchanging game value for real money or for things outside the game. NC’s Operation Policy for AION 2 Global lists these as RMT:

  • trading items or in-game currency (Kina, Quna) for real money, goods or services;
  • boosting, piloting, carries and win-trading for money;
  • trading items for items from other games;
  • paying others to level your character.

Even attempting or advertising RMT or account trading, and advertising RMT brokerage sites, are separate listed violations.

Sanctions table (summary)

Violation (NC Operation Policy) Listed sanction steps
Real-Money Trading (RMT) 30 days → 90 days
Attempted RMT / advertising RMT or account trading 3 days → 7 days → 30 days
Account Trading 7 days → 30 days → 90 days
Fraud (incl. RMT scams, fake trades) 7 days → 30 days → 90 days
Gold Farming / Bot Operations Integrated account ban
Use of Unauthorized Programs Integrated account ban
Creating / distributing unauthorized programs Integrated account ban

An “integrated account ban” is, by NC’s definition, a permanent restriction on all NC games and related services, not only AION 2. NC may also reclaim items, experience or other benefits gained through a violation.

October 2026 restriction waves

NC publishes restriction notices for Global:

Notice Accounts restricted Reasons
Oct 10 PDT / Oct 11 CEST 4,996 Gold farming / bots, unauthorized programs, RMT
Oct 12 PDT / Oct 13 CEST 10,000 Same
Oct 14, 00:00 PDT / 09:00 CEST 9,422 Same
Oct 15, 22:00 PDT / Oct 16, 06:00 CEST 7,933 Same

That is 32,351 accounts in four notices (as of Oct 16, 2026). NC says restrictions follow a review, and that normal play, including long grinding sessions, is not affected.

Why buying Kina is a bad deal

  • Account risk: NC warned that buying Kina or Quna from unauthorized parties can end in losing access to the game. It also said it may publish information about the actions it takes.
  • Benefit loss: NC can roll back the Kina or items you bought.
  • Shared liability: NC may sanction users who benefited from someone else’s violation.
  • No refunds for losses: NC’s policy says damage from unofficial item or account trading, and from fraud between users, is not eligible for restoration or compensation.

There is an official way to turn money into Kina: the Kina–Quna exchange that comes with the Special Quai Membership. How Kina moves between players — the Market, the Kina–Quna exchange and Kina sinks — is covered in our Market and economy guide.

Account sharing and security

  • Do not share your account. If a violation happens because the owner shared the account, NC can sanction both accounts.
  • Temporary security locks: NC may lock an account when it sees access from a risky device or connection. This is protection, not a penalty. Contact Customer Support to restore access.
  • Use a unique password and the security options of Steam or your NC account.

Other rules that catch new players

  • Bots and macros that play for you are sanctioned as bot operations.
  • Third-party programs that interfere with the game can count as unauthorized programs. See DPS meters.
  • Character names that advertise boosting or trading for cash are not allowed.
  • Priority queue: accounts with sanctions, or suspected of breaking the Terms, may lose priority queue access.

Can I sell my AION 2 account?
