In short
- Stigmas are equippable skill stones that add or strengthen class skills. NC lists Stigma as a core character system.
- Global has 4 Stigma slots. Client data and a second source agree they open at Lv. 22, 27, 32 and 37.
- Stigma Shards come from leveling, the Abyss, Nightmare, Shugo Festival, Arena and Battlefield shops, the Daeva Pass and achievements.
- On Global Season 1 a Stigma levels up to 20. KR raised the cap to 25 and made resets free on Jul 1, 2026 — not on Global.
AION 2 Stigma basics: slot levels, shard sources and the KR trap (Global)
Stigma is the system of equippable skill stones in AION 2. A Stigma adds a skill or makes a class skill stronger. NC names Stigma as a core character system in its server-transfer notice.
Status labels: [Official], [Client data] — data extracted from the Global client, [Community ×2], [Single source], [KR/TW].
When do Stigma slots open?
| Slot | Character level | Status |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Lv. 22 | [Client data] + [Community] |
| 2 | Lv. 27 | [Client data] + [Community] |
| 3 | Lv. 32 | [Client data] + [Community] |
| 4 | Lv. 37 | [Client data] + [Community] |
Contradiction: one leveling route lists the first Stigma at Lv. 23 instead of Lv. 22. The difference is one level; the unlock follows the third Ascension quest.
Where do you get Stigma Shards?
Stigma Shards level up your Stigmas. Sources agree on these places — [Client data] + [Community ×2]:
- character level-ups;
- the Abyss shop (paid with Abyss Points);
- the Nightmare shop and the Shugo Festival shop;
- Arena and Battlefield shops;
- the Daeva Pass and achievements;
- Unstable Shards turned into Stigma Shards through Substance Morph.
How much does upgrading cost?
Client data says one Stigma from level 1 to 20 needs 75 shards (1, 2, 4 and 8 shards per level in 5-level steps), or 300 shards for all four — [Single source]. We show this as a planning guide until a second source confirms it.
Global vs KR/TW
| Topic | Global Season 1 | KR/TW |
|---|---|---|
| Max Stigma level | 20 | 25 (since Jul 1, 2026) |
| Reset | Costs a fee (amount not published) | Free (since Jul 1, 2026) |
| Slots | 4 | More at higher levels (reported) |
KR/TW guides often show the KR rules. Check the version label before you follow them.
Which Stigmas should my class use?
Class-specific Stigma choices are pending verification. We will add them to each class guide once official skill data or two independent Global sources agree. Start from our class choice guide.
Beginner tips
- Equip a Stigma as soon as each slot opens; an empty slot is lost power.
- Spend Abyss Points on shards if you are unsure — one guide recommends it for both PvE and PvP — [Single source].
- Do not copy KR builds that rely on Stigma level 25; Global caps at 20.

FAQ
How many Stigma slots are there in AION 2 Global?
Four. They open at Lv. 22, 27, 32 and 37 according to client data (MetaBot) and Playnews. KR/TW reportedly has more slots at higher levels.
At what level do Stigmas unlock?
Most sources say Lv. 22, after the third Ascension quest. One leveling route lists Lv. 23, so expect it around Lv. 22–23.
What should I spend Abyss Points on?
One community guide (Mein-MMO) recommends Stigma Shards, because Stigma levels also help in PvE. This is a tip from a single source.
Can I reset Stigmas for free?
Free resets exist on KR since Jul 1, 2026. On Global a reset has a cost; the amount is not published yet.
