Are they the same game?
Yes and no. All three run the same AION 2 at the core, made by NC on Unreal Engine 5. But they are separate services:
- separate clients and launchers;
- separate accounts and servers;
- separate shops and prices;
- separate patch notes and schedules.
NC’s Global FAQ is clear: progress from KR or TW does not carry over to Global.
What do KR and TW have that Global does not?
The Chapter 1 update arrived in KR and TW on July 1, 2026. According to the official KR patch notes it added:
- a new class, Brawler (KR 권성, TW 拳星; “Brawler” is not yet an official Global name), with gauntlet-type weapons;
- a higher level cap of 50;
- new regions Eltnen (Elyos) and Morheim (Asmodians), released in two parts;
- higher stigma skill levels (20 → 25), new Arcana slots and a new pendant gear slot;
- new Abyss layers and other system changes.

Shops and prices differ too
KR shop items and prices are not Global shop items and prices. NC said in August 2026 that it lowered KR/TW membership prices and changed cosmetic sales before Chapter 1. The Global Special Quai Membership costs $14.99 for 30 days. See membership.
Why this matters for guides
Many English sites copy KR builds, item levels or boss data without a label. Numbers can differ between services: level caps, stat caps, item levels, drop tables and even class balance. On Aion2help every page shows which service it covers, and KR/TW data is marked 🇰🇷.
Can I play KR or TW from outside those regions?
KR and TW are run for their home markets. The Global Steam page is not available in Korea or Taiwan; there, AION 2 is offered as the local KR and TW services. We describe the services factually but do not publish instructions for getting around regional or account restrictions.
FAQ
Is AION 2 Global the same game as the Korean version?
It is the same game, but a separate service. Global launched later, has its own servers, prices and patch schedule, and does not yet have the KR Chapter 1 content.
Can I transfer my KR or TW character to Global?
No. NC’s FAQ states that progress between the TW/KR and Global versions does not carry over.
Does Global have the Brawler class?
No. Brawler exists only in KR and TW since July 1, 2026. NC has not announced it for Global.
What is the level cap in Global vs KR?
Global Season 1 caps at level 45. KR and TW raised the cap to 50 with Chapter 1.
Why do some guides show different numbers?
Many sites mix KR/TW data with Global data. Item levels, stats and shop items differ between services. Always check which version a guide describes.
