What did NC say on August 11?
On the Q2 2026 earnings call, NC co-CEO Park Byung-moo explained the situation in short:
- NC first planned to enter China after the Global launch, but received strong interest from Chinese companies earlier in 2026.
- NC chose to partner early with Shengqu.
- The deal was not yet signed. It covers PC publishing and a separate contract for a mobile version similar to Aion Classic.
- NC said it would disclose the signing separately.
We found no public disclosure of a signed contract after August 11, 2026. If you see claims of a CN beta date, check whether they cite NC or Shengqu.
Why it matters for other players
- A CN launch would add a large new player base, but on separate servers. It would not merge with Global.
- Chinese-speaking players today can choose between Global (no Chinese UI) and the TW service (Traditional Chinese). See client language.
