In short
- Global has one Abyss layer: Chaotic Lower Reshanta. KR has three: lower, middle and (since July 2026) a surface layer.
- KR added the Abyss middle layer on January 21, 2026 and replaced it with the Chaotic Middle Ereshuranta on April 8, 2026 — no flying there.
- Both KR layers hold 3 artifacts each (6 in total); the faction that loses artifacts gets PvP buffs for the next siege.
- The Abyss surface (July 1, 2026) is only for item level 4,300 or less, or combat power 400K or less; 300 players per faction, no artifacts.
- NC has announced none of this for Global.

Names of the middle and surface layers are our English renderings of the KR names. NC has no English names for them yet. Global’s English texts write “Reshanta”, KR’s write “Ereshuranta”: same place, different root.
How the middle layer arrived (timeline)

Artifact sieges and bosses (KR)
- Six artifacts: three on the lower layer, three on the middle layer. Capture bonuses apply to both layers together.
- Comeback buffs: a faction that loses the siege gets more PvP damage resistance in the next one: +10% after losing 1 artifact, +20% after 2, and +35% resistance plus +20% PvP damage after losing all 3 (values since January 21, 2026).
- Guardian Lord Nahma (official Global name; KR 수호신장 나흐마) appears on the lower layer. A raging version appears twice on the middle layer.
- After each siege, extra bosses spawn: three on the lower layer and three on the middle layer. Their KR names translate roughly as “Executioner Dramos”, “Traitor Dukal” and “Destroyer Maraka” on the middle layer (our translations).
- Field bosses in the Abyss leave the field 30 minutes after they appear (KR, April 22, 2026).
The Abyss surface (KR, Chapter 1)
The surface is an Abyss for lower-geared characters:

What this means for Global
- Global is in Season 1 with one Abyss layer. The Global patch of Oct 14, 2026 set the maximum stored Abyss entry time to 7 hours and sells Lower Abyss Rift Stones — the same naming pattern KR uses for its middle-layer stones.
- No Global date has been announced for the middle or surface layer.
- KR reworked the middle layer several times in its first months. If Global gets it, expect a version closer to KR’s current state than to the January original.

FAQ
Is the Chaotic Abyss in AION 2 Global?
Partly. Global has Chaotic Lower Reshanta, the lower layer. The middle layer and the surface layer exist only in KR/TW, and NC has announced no Global date.
Why is it called Ereshuranta in KR and Reshanta in Global?
NC uses different roots: Korean and Japanese texts say Ereshuranta (에레슈란타 / エレシュランタ), the English, German, French, Spanish and Portuguese texts say Reshanta. Both mean the same Abyss.
Can you fly in the Chaotic Middle Ereshuranta?
No. KR’s April 8, 2026 patch says flight is disabled there. KR later added wind paths and updrafts to move between areas.
Who can enter the Abyss surface layer in KR?
Characters with item level 4,300 or less, or combat power 400K or less. If you exceed the limit inside, you are removed and lose 1 hour of surface time; since October 7, 2026 your character dies instantly.
When are the Abyss sieges and bosses in KR?
Artifact sieges run on Wednesday and Saturday evenings. Since September 30, 2026 the bosses that follow the siege appear at 9:45, 10:15 or 10:45 PM KST depending on the server group.
