Expedition guide: Exploration and Conquest

Expedition is the core group dungeon of AION 2. You and up to four other players clear a story dungeon with several bosses and open a reward cube at the end. On Global, Expedition is your main source of gear between the Abyss and Transcendence.

How does Expedition work?

• Two modes per dungeon: Exploration (guided, available while leveling) and Conquest (Lv. 45, item level gate, harder). Each mode has its own reward pool — [Community ×2].
• Party: up to 5 players — [Community ×2]. Instanced content is cross-server — [Official].
• Loot: at the end you open an Odyle Energy Cube. Each boss you kill, including optional ones, adds to the cube — [Community ×2].
• Odyle Energy cost per cube: Conquest 40 — [Community ×2]; Exploration 20 — [Single source]. Odyle Energy regenerates 15 every 3 hours — [Community ×4].
• Reward counts: Exploration gives 7 per dungeon per week — [Community ×2]. Conquest refills +1 every 8 hours — [Single source].
• Conquest enrage: Conquest runs have an enrage timer on bosses — [Single source].

In plain words: you can run Expedition as often as you like, but you only get loot while you have reward counts and Odyle Energy. Spend both every week.

Which bosses are in each dungeon?

Boss names are confirmed by two or more community guides; the three final bosses have mechanics guides. Fire Temple ends with Kromede’s Desire at the Mirror Altar — [KR official] + [Community]; its guide is in preparation.

What drops in Expedition?

• Gear by dungeon tier. Draupnir Cave is reported to drop a Bakarma armor set, Sealed Blue Wave Wings, Balaur’s Essence (from Bakarma), and accessories from its mid-bosses — [Single source]. Mid-bosses there also drop pet Souls — [Single source].
• Gear Change Voucher: a Conquest clear in Krao Cave, Urugugu Canyon or Fire Temple is reported to guarantee one — [Single source]. Two vouchers, a weapon from the same dungeon and 1,000,000 Kina convert into a new item through Substance Morph — [Single source].
• Event rewards: until Nov 4, 2026 (CET), Expedition and Transcendence clears give Candy Key Fragments for the Halloween event, and “Clear Expedition Conquest 1 time” is a weekly event mission — [Official]. See Halloween event.

Drop chances: pending verification — no source publishes them.

Tips for your first Conquest runs

1. Reach item level 700 before Krao Cave or Draupnir Cave Conquest. Gear to +10 is guaranteed and cheap; see Enhancement.
2. Kill the optional bosses when your group is strong enough. They add loot to the cube.
3. Watch the clock in Draupnir Cave (60 minutes, single source) and on Conquest enrage timers.
4. Do not overcap Odyle Energy. The stored cap is 560, or 840 with a membership — [Community ×4].
5. After Urugugu Canyon, move to Transcendence at item level 1,600.

Global vs KR/TW

• KR Expedition parties had 4 players until Jul 1, 2026. Global uses 5 — [Community ×2].
• KR added Lv. 50 Expedition content with Chapter 1, for example Citadel of the Fallen Daeva at item level 3,800 (Hard 4,500) — [KR/TW]. It is not on Global.
